Wyoming Eclipse Festival 2017

Less than 2 seconds of totality from the epi-center of the eclipse lies the Hogadon Basin Ski Area, which is situated 3,000 feet above the plains below.  From this vantage point you will be able to view the leading edge of the shadow of the eclipse as it races towards you from across the plains below as total darkness approaches.  Hogadon is the only spot on top of the mountain with public access to viewing of the shadow below.  Once you are enveloped in total darkness, you may see the still-illuminated peaks of the Bighorn Mountains 75 miles to the north – a truly unique total eclipse experience!

Gates to the parking lot will open at 7:00am on the day of the eclipse.  It is advised you arrive as early as possible due to expected heavy traffic on the mountain road. The best route is, Wyoming 251 up to Hogadon Basin.

Due to restrictions imposed by the City, overnight parking is not available. Visit the accommodations page to find camping opportunities on the mountain.

Food and beverage opportunities during the morning of the eclipse are being developed.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of Hogadon, a 501(c)(3) organization established to support the ski area.
